World’s largest cruise ship completes first phase of sea trials

The world’s largest cruise ship has completed its first phase of sea trials in Europe.

Royal Caribbean’s record-breaking Icon of the Seas is expected to make its official debut in January 2024.

The cruise ship will offer the world’s largest waterpark at sea, a theme park and 20 decks of rooms, bars, dining options and much more.

The ship weighs in at an estimated 250,800 tons, measures close to 1,200 feet long and holds about 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew.

A second round of sea trials are expected to take place later this year, before the ship makes its debut out of South Florida in January 2024.

The Icon of the Seas will knock another Royal Caribbean ship, Wonder of the Seas, out of the top spot in the race for the world’s largest cruise ship.
