A release date has finally been announced for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie called “The Great Indian Rescue”.

The film will hit theatres on October 5th and, for the while, it doesn’t seems to have any major competing releases on the schedule.

“The Great Indian Rescue” is based on the real incident surrounding the late Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer who saved the lives of 64 people trapped in a flooded coal mine in West Bengal in 1989.

He subsequently received several awards for his heroics.

Akshay will star as Gill.
